June: The Month of The Sacred Heart of Jesus
Many of us have struggled a lot over the past few years. You may have lost family or friends.
You may be feeling lonely and having all kinds of problems. You may have lost your job. You may be struggling financially. Whatever you are going through, you are not alone.
This happened to me. I lost many of my friends and most of my family. My husband divorced me. People seem to think what we are going through as to do with politics, but I know the truth.
This is a spiritual battle. And how we fight in a spiritual battle is with prayer.
Prayer Is The Way Through
Whatever is going on in your life, you may need extra strength and support right now. I want to share this Christian devotion with you for those of you.
Some of you may want to join me in doing this devotion. So I decided to write this post and share with you why I am committed to doing this.
June: The Month of The Sacred Heart of Jesus
Every June, going back to the Middle Ages, Catholics have practiced a devotion called the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The biggest reason I am starting on this devotion this year is because I came to the realization recently that this devotion must be very powerful against the Devil since they took over the month of June.
You see, the devil never attacks something that is weak. He only attacks something that is strong.
So why would Satan dedicate the whole month of June to the greatest sin of all, Pride?
Saint Padre Pio
Saint Padre Pio recited this novena every day for all those who requested his prayers.
Do I think it is a coincidence that the Padre Pio movie came out last week, on June 2nd?
No, no I do not.
By the way, actor Shia Labeouf has converted to Catholicism.
Again, this is a battle against the devil. And the devil ahs concecrated the month of June to the sin of pride.
I can't wait to go see this movie!
Pretty sure it's rated R, so not for kids. If you're wondering why it's rated R, well, things aren't always peachy-keen in the world of Catholic saints.
They have battled against demons to keep the faith alive.

Basically it is just going to mass and confession on the first Friday of every month (in addition to your usual Sunday mass,) going to Thursday adoration, and a few other things.

You don't have to do the whole devotion (all 9 months) but if you are trying to change your life in a powerful way, I would do it. I am committed to doing all 9 months.

Pray the Novena
The first thing you need to do to start the devotion is pray the novena.
This prayer should be said each day for 9 days. You start 9 days before the feast day.
If you don't know what a feast day is, it's just a day we celebrate the lives of saints, or people who defended Christianity and the Catholic church.
The feast day changes every year because it's 19 days after Pentecost and that changes based on the moon.
This year the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (the offical name for the feast day) is this Friday, June 9th.
So anyway, that is the day this devotion kicks off and you pray the novena every day for nine days. Which means we start today, June 7.
If you're just seeing this and you're late, and you want to join in, go ahead and start anyway. Catholicism is not about being perfect. It's about making your best effort.
