The Fight for Foie Gras in California

This weekend I traveled to Southern California where I was fortunate enough to eat foie gras at two different restaurants. Sadly, beginning in July 2012, foie gras will be banned in the state of California. I’m horrified and angry that California has outlawed this delectable traditional food.

Roast Duck with Watermelon, Goat Cheese, Red Onion, Pine Nut and Arugula Salad

This meal was astoundingly good. If I do say so myself. I ate the whole thing.

Roast Duck with Cherry Reduction Sauce

If you can get your hands on a pastured duck, I highly recommend making a roast duck. I think it’s even better than chicken and it’s much easier to roast.
