In my last blog post in this series, I shared why I’m diving into Lifewave and why I want you to join me. In this post, I'm going to explain why I walked away from my cushy corporate advertising jobs.
In my last blog post in this series, I shared why I’m diving into Lifewave and why I want you to join me.
In this post, I'm going to explain why I walked away from my cushy corporate advertising jobs.

My Early Days with Network Marketing
Back in my 20s, when I was working in corporate advertising, I figured out that network marketing was the easiest and most scalable solution to make passive income.
Then suddenly, my Aunt Jennifer, who was doing the business with me back in the 90s, died of diabetes. And then I was going through a bad divorce (my first marriage).
I didn't find my second husband, Seth, until 2005. It felt like it took forever. I was 39 when I finally had my first child. This was after spending over a decade in corporate advertising.
I worked with top companies in every vertical—from food and consumer packaged goods to banking, finance, pharmaceuticals, and retail, companies like Toys “R” Us, Target, Old Navy.

Escaping the Corporate Grind
I really didn’t like the corporate structure. It was very cutthroat. You had to be deceptive and a liar to succeed. And there were always layoffs looming.
As much as I enjoyed the camaraderie at the ad agencies, it was stressful. The atmosphere was creative and fun, and I liked that part of it. But the popularity contests and backstabbing wore me out.

I wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to go back to 50-hour weeks. I needed to make my children my priority and raise them.
When my daughter was born, during the time I was pregnant, I started writing. I told my husband and in-laws I wanted to become a novelist and write books.

Finding My Voice with a Blog
But I found I couldn’t write by myself. I’m not an introvert. I'm an extrovert – I need the stimulation and interaction of being with others. So I started the Cheeseslave blog in November after Kate was born.

I love blogging as opposed to writing because I love communicating with readers in the comments.
This was before social media like Facebook. Being able to communicate with my readers was fulfilling.
Building a Health-Focused Platform
In the early days of my blog, I started writing about health and how I cured my rheumatoid arthritis in my 20s with diet and supplements.
I started the blog network, Real Food Media, which later became Village Green Network the next year, which is what Eden Revival will be based on. I’ll talk more about that later.

My Cheeseslave blog grew from nothing to a six-figure income in just a few years. That's when I realized the power of a network.
My Lifelong Commitment to Help Others
I also realized how much people are suffering. They’re sicker than ever and desperately need solutions for their health problems.
That’s what I’m passionate and committed to. I changed my life by curing my arthritis and chronic fatigue in my 20s.
I helped our former nanny, Jennifer, too—read about that here (scroll down to the second half for Jennifer's story).
In the past 18 years of blogging, I know I’ve impacted many lives. Which is why I'm not giving up, despite all the censorship.
One woman emailed me after her son was on the GAPS diet for a month. She said her son, who had stopped talking for a year and a half after his MMR vaccine, said, “I love you, Mommy.”
That email brought tears to my eyes and solidified my commitment to this work for rest of my life, no matter what. And it has helped me weather the storm ever since it started for me in 2014.
Paying the Price for Authenticity
In 2015, California made vaccines mandatory for kids to go to school.
I spoke out. That's when I started getting censored, getting thrown into Facebook jail, and my extended family members (most of them pro-vax nurses) started unfriending me.
I’ve always been authentic and honest. That’s who I am. But I’ve paid a heavy price. The last decade was the hardest of my life.
I lost my home, family, all my social media platforms, my child, income, and my life savings.
Almost everything.
I still have my dog and my son but I don't even have a home anymore. I've lost contact with almost all of my friends and family.
But I am determined not to give up.

I am struggling right now because I lost almost all my social media accounts due to Big Tech censorship which wiped out 90% of my income back in the summer of 2019.
I'm a single mom with two kids to support. My husband of 16 years divorced me in 2022 and took the house and our life savings and left me over $300K in debt.
