The Saddest Thing I Ever Saw
This is how I found her. She fell asleep trying to eat her cake. It was her birthday.
The other day, I witnessed the saddest thing I ever saw in my whole life.
A couple of days ago, I was getting ready to pack my car to come back to Austin after spending the summer in Dallas with my family.
I went to visit my new friend Laura, who lives at the nursing home in Dallas where my stepdad is.
She's only 73. Her husband died 2 years ago, and her sons and daughters couldn't take care of her, so she had to move into this nursing home.
This is how I found her. She fell asleep trying to eat her cake. It was her birthday.
When I saw her last week, before I had to leave for Austin, she was bright and bubbly and talkative and totally coherent. Last week, she was sewing in her room, and playing cards with us in the game room.
She could not even hold her head up. Her eyes were rolling back in her head and she was drowsy and out of it. She could barely use her fork to try to eat her birthday cake.
I said, "What are the chances that I would come back to see you on your birthday?" She smiled and said, "It's a divine appointment."
When I asked her what happened to her, she said, "It's been a really bad few days." She was whispering, afraid someone would hear her. She told me they "overdosed" her on Percocet last Friday.
"They gave me too much," she said. "I was like this all weekend."
She said this was how she was when her family came to visit.
What kind of evil is this happening in America? I asked her if she would please tell her family what is happening. She said she would when she can wake up.
I held her hands, hugged her and kissed her forehead and told her that God loves her and I love her and that I will pray for her to get out of that place.
Please pray for Laura, that her family will find a way to bring her home. Pray that she will be able to tell them. I think she will die in there if someone doesn't rescue her.
There is Hope for our Elders
When I posted this on Facebook the other day, people asked if I could help her. Sadly, I could not do anything because I had to leave the next day to come back to Austin.
But I will be back to see her because I'm trying to find a way to bring my stepdad home. First I have to get a house – see my recent post.
The good news is, we now know that we can reverse almost any disease.
