1. My Magic Mud Activated Charcoal Toothpaste

If I had to choose just one product I loved the most at Expo West this year, it was definitely My Magic Mud Activated Charcoal Toothpaste.

My Favorite Finds at Expo West 2017

I’ve been reading about activated charcoal as a tooth whitener for a years now. I’ve even tried it a few times, brushing  activated charcoal powder  on my teeth. But it’s not something I could ever get into the habit of doing because it’s so messy. The powder gets everywhere and it is unpleasant.

And besides, it’s just not a pleasant experience. I thought to myself, if someone could add activated charcoal to a minty-fresh toothpaste, I would use it all the time.

Why My Magic Mud Toothpaste?

When I met the people running the Magic Mud booth, I said, “I know this product works because you’re teeth are so white!”  Just look at how white their teeth are! I was seriously blown away.

I became convinced that I needed the  My Magic Mud toothpaste  when folks at the booth told me that it’s not good to use activated charcoal capsules on your teeth because they use abrasive charcoal that can scratch your teeth.

And, My Magic Mud also contains bentonite clay which they say helps to remineralize your teeth, and it does NOT contain fluoride or glycerine. (If you read my blog regularly, you know I write a lot about the health damaging effects of fluoride!)

How long will it take to see results with My Magic Mud toothpaste?

According to their FAQ, most people see results after using it every day for about 2 weeks:

My Magic Mud® Tooth Powder is a natural way to whiten your teeth. You simply brush for two minutes at night, just before bed, and the whitening follows from the deep cleaning. This is also a natural way to effectively remove plaque and extrinsic stains caused from coffee, tea, wine, and yellowing from different foods and beverages. The amount of time it takes depends on what is currently yellowing your teeth. On average, people notice whitening occur after fourteen applications. However, stay committed, and your smile will continue to get brighter and your oral health will continue to improve.

My Results with My Magic Mud Toothpaste

I just started using it yesterday using a sample I got, so I haven’t seen any whitening action yet. So far I find it to be a pleasant experience — the taste is good. And it’s easy and not messy to use like a powder.

I promise to report back on my tooth whitening results — I can’t wait to see how it works!

2. E-Cloth Microfiber Cleaning Cloths

I’ve been a fan of Norwex Microfiber Cloths for almost a decade now. I love cleaning with just microfiber cloths and water. Not only do I avoid the chemicals in household cleaners, but I save a lot of money not buying cleaners and we save a lot of money on paper towels.

Microfiber cloths work great on everything from kitchen sinks to glass to stainless steel. They also make microfiber mop heads, which I have found work better than any mop you can buy.

However, I really don’t like the high price of Norwex. They are extremely expensive, so I avoid buying them very often, and as a result, my Norwex cloths end up getting pretty nasty and beat up (we use them constantly for cleaning throughout the house, from the kitchen to the bathrooms, and for dusting furniture).

Norwex vs. E-Cloth

When I replaced some of my older Norwex cloths recently (which I had owned for YEARS), I ordered them on Amazon (I tend to order everything possible on Amazon since I already pay for Prime shipping and it’s just so convenient). I saw E-Cloth Microfiber Cleaning Cloths on the Amazon site, and I assumed they were a cheap knock-off of Norwex.

And trust me, there is no point using cheap knock-off microfiber cloths. I have tried them before and they do NOT work! They are a complete waste of money.

Apparently I was wrong about E-Cloth. The woman I met at the E-Cloth booth explained to me that after microfiber was developed in the 1970s, two companies emerged. One was Norwex in Norway, and the other was E-Cloth in England. She said E-Cloth works the same as Norwex — both brands remove over 99% of bacteria with just water.

However, Norwex decided to go with a network marketing/direct sales model and E-Cloth went the traditional retail route.

Do E-Cloth Microfiber Cleaning Cloths Work As Well as Norwex?

So the big question… do the E-Cloths work as well as Norwex? I got some free sample cloths from E-Cloth and tested them against my Norwex microfiber cloths.

The answer is: Yes, they both work about the same. However, E-Cloth microfiber products cost a whole lot less than Norwex. You can  buy E-Cloth on Amazon for half the price as Norwex.

Where to Buy E-Cloth Microfiber Cleaning Cloths

You can buy microfiber cloths from E-Cloth on Amazon.

From now on, I’ll be buying all my  microfiber cloths from E-Cloth.

3. Guac Lock

We make fresh guacamole pretty much every week, sometimes twice a week at our house. It’s a staple for Taco Tuesday, and we love it for lots of other things (even French fries — don’t ask, it’s an obsession!). I grew up in Texas, ya’ll, and I’m addicted to guacamole.

The problem with fresh guacamole is, it never lasts until the next day. You have to eat it all right away.

Until now… with Guac Lock!

How the Guac Lock Works

This clever contraption works by simply pressing all the air out of the container. AND it is so easy to use. When you’re finished making your guacamole, just put it in the container and press down and LOCK.

You can also use the  Guac Lock  for other sauces like pesto, hummus, cocktail sauce, salsa fresca and even tzatzki. You could use it for fresh fruits and vegetables, too — anything that will oxidize.

Where to Get the Guac Lock

You can  order the Guac Lock on Amazon.  For only $19 ($30 if you want the set with the chip tray), your guacamole troubles are officially over.

You’re welcome.
